We are UK residents and having bought land at Pezula Private Estate, we began the search to engage a local contractor with the task of creating a beautiful home.
With recommendations from our architect, and looking at previous Tusker projects, we were delighted to instruct them as our contractor.
For most of the project, we were absent, being in the UK, relying upon the project management and Tuskers to proceed in our absence. Naturally, this required a large amount of trust on both parts. The distance involved, however, did not pose any problems. Communication from Tuskers was always informative with regular photographs, progress reports etc. and when we did make inspection visits, the accuracy of the reports and standard of work was always evident.
We were pleased that the timescale and budget for the project proved to be accurate, and once completed, the quality of the finished house was second to none.
As we are not permanent residents in the property, Tuskers were willing to extend the period normally allowed for any problems that may have occurred, once occupancy had taken place.
We would like to mention that during a stay, long after completion, Knysna experienced a severe, major storm. The following morning, we heard horror stories of the damage caused to several homes. Leaks, floods, wind and water damage to homes etc. Gladly we can say that our house remained water-tight, with only a single roof tile lost. Evidence indeed, of a quality construction.
Overall, we cannot recommend Tuskers highly enough. Should we ever decide to build again, we would only use this company.
